A MORE ENJOYABLE AND PRODUCTIVE SWEAT

Health + Beauty + Wellness One Premiere Location

Detoxification through sweat is a centuries old practice. Modern environmental medicine has proven that sweat is more than temperature regulation, it’s also part of the body’s elimination system. It’s one of the best ways to detox your body.

Infrared offers a more enjoyable, pleasant experience. It warms the body from within instead of just heating the air around you. This provides a unique opportunity for health benefits beyond a traditional sauna.

Located in San Antonio, Texas in the heart of Alamo Heights

INFRARED SAUNA BENEFITS

Cardio

45 min, including Near, Mid and Far infrared. Starts at a high intensity to increase heart rate and cardiac output, then lowers to sustain heart rate level. Circulation increases to promote healthy blood pressure.

Detoxification

37 min, including Mid & Far infrared light. Starting at a high intensity to increase the body's core temp, then reducing to a lower intensity level. Mid and Far infrared combination improves vascular access flow to reach toxins at the cellular level.

Pain Relief

30 min, including Near, Mid and Far infrared. A far and mid-infrared blend provides natural pain relief by reducing inflammation and swelling while near-infrared penetrated the tissue promiting cellular repair.

Weight Loss

30 min, including Mid and Far Infrared. Starting at a high intensity to stimulate the cardiovascular system, then reduces to a medium level. As the body works to cool itself, there is an increase in heart rate, cardiac output, and metabolic rate, similar to exercise.

Sweat levels are different for everyone. Sweat will increase with regular use. Even if your body is not drenched in sweat, your body is still detoxing from harmful toxins. Drink plenty of water before the session. Dehydration will affect the lack of sweating. Pure Sweat cream can triple sweat and increase circulation.

DO I NEED A DOCTOR PRESCRIPTION?

No, unless you have current health concerns.

IS THE INFRARED COMING FROM LIGHT?

No. infrared heaters are located on the floor, front back and side wall panels. The chromotherapy lights are not infrared.

ARE THERE ANY STUDIES ON INFRARED THERAPY?

Yes. Sunlighten saunas have shown to increase core temp for detoxification, temporarily lower blood pressure, increase flexibility…. Increase skin health, aid in relaxation and mental health, support reduction of waist circumference….

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED TO USE THE SAUNA?

Children core temp raises much higher, lower sauna temp and time. NO MORE THAN 15 MIN. Even if they are not sweating, keep the child hydrated and no longer than 15 min. Must be accompanied by an adult.

IS IT OKAY TO USE SAUNA WHILE BREASTFEEDING?

Possibly but consult with a physician…

CAN I SAUNA WHILE PREGNANT?

WHAT IS RED LIGHT THERAPY AND ITS BENEFITS?

Main benefit of Red Light Therapy is the enhancement of mitochondrial energy production and the enhancement of physiological renewal. It is absorbed through the skin and can help reduce pain, help with recovery from exercise, reduces inflammation, skin rejuvenation, scarring, wound healing, acne can be used to prepare for a stressful event, cancer, temporarily relief of arthritic pain, wrinkles and fine lines, boosts circulation, improve sleep, helps with collagen production, anti- aging benefits.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RED LIGHT AND INFRARED?

Red Light Therapy is therapy in the spectrum of red light. Infrared is invisible wavelengths. Near, Mid, Far & Red all penetrate at different cellular depths.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RED LIGHT & CHROMOTHERAPY?

POWER DENSITY:For the infrared sauna it is like water coming through a nozzle of a hose with different spray intensities. Chromotherapy would be a mist, Red Light Therapy would be like a jet spray.

ABSORPTION: Chromotherapy is visible light or colored light that is emitted in the form of photons that are absorbed by active receptors in the eyes. Once adsorbed proteins are activated at a color specific wavelength to produce various biochemical benefits. Red Light is visible light that emits photons that are absorbed through the skin at a higher power density. Like near infrared, red light penetrates the outer layer of the skin. When it is absorbed by the body, the light boosts cellular activity to produce various biochemical benefits.

WHAT ARE THE CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR SAUNA USAGE?

    • 1. MEDICATIONS
      • Individuals who are using Warfarin or other blood thinning drugs should not use the sauna.\nIndividuals who are using prescription drugs should seek the advice of their personal physician or a pharmacist for possible changes in the drugs effect when the body is exposed to infrared energy. Diuretics, barbiturates and beta-blockers may impair the body’s natural heat loss mechanisms. Some over the counter drugs such as antihistamines may also cause the body to be more prone to heat stroke.
    • 2. CARDIOVASCULAR CONDITIONS
      • Individuals with cardiovascular conditions or problems (hypertension/ hypotension), congestive heart failure, impaired coronary circulation or those who are taking medications, which might affect blood pressure, should exercise extreme caution when exposed to prolonged heat. Heat stress increases cardiac output, blood flow, in an effort to transfer internal body heat to the outside environment via the skin (perspiration) and respiratory system. This takes place primarily due to major changes in the heart rate, which has the potential to increase by thirty (30) beats per minute for each degree increase in core body temperature.
    • 3. PACEMAKER / DEFIBRILLATOR
      • The magnets used to assemble the units of the sauna can interrupt the pacing and inhibit the output of pacemakers. If you have a pacemaker or defibrillator, you should not use this Sauna.
    • 4. JOINT INJURY
      • If you have a recent joint injury, it should not be heated for the first 48 hours or until the hot and swollen symptoms subside. If you have a joint or joints that are chronically hot and swollen, these joints may respond poorly to vigorous heating of any kind. Vigorous heating is strictly contra-indicated in cases of enclosed infections such as dental, in joints or in any other tissues.
    • 5. FEVER
      • An individual that has a fever should not use the any type of Sauna.
    • 6. ALCOHOL / ALCOHOL ABUSE
      • Contrary to popular belief, it is not advisable to attempt to “Sweat Out” a hangover. Alcohol intoxication decreases a person’s judgment, therefore they may not realize it when the body has a negative reaction to high heat. Alcohol also increases the heart rate, which may be further increased by heat stress.

Chronic Conditions / Diseases Associated with a Reduced ability to Sweat or Perspire

Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Central Nervous System Tumors and Diabetes with Neuropathy are conditions that are associated with impaired sweating. Consult your health care practitioner before using a Sunlighten Sauna.

  • 7. HAEMOPHILIACS / INDIVIDUALS PRONE TO BLEEDING
    • The use of Infrared should be avoided by anyone who is predisposed to bleeding.
  • 8. INSENSITIVITY TO HEAT
    • An individual that has insensitivity to heat should consult their health care professional before using a Sunlighten sauna. The temperature of the sauna can be set at lower temperatures. If in doubt, do not use any type of Sauna.
  • 9. PREGNANCY
    • Pregnant women should consult a physician before using the Sauna.
  • 10. IMPLANTS
    • Metal pins, rods, artificial joints or other surgical implants generally reflect Far infrared waves and thus are not heated by this system. The usage of the Sauna must be discontinued if you experience pain near any such implants. Silicone does absorb infrared energy. Implanted silicone or silicone prostheses for nose or ear replacement may be warmed by the infrared waves. Since silicone melts at over 392°F (200°C), it should not be adversely affected by the usage of a Sauna. It is still advised that you check with your surgeon to be certain.
  • 11. CHILDREN
    • The core body temperature of children rises much faster than adults. This occurs due to a higher metabolic rate per body mass, limited circulatory adaptation to increased cardiac demands and the inability to regulate body temperature by sweating. The ability to regulate body temperature by sweating is said to occur only after a child has reached puberty.
  • 12. THE ELDERLY
    • The ability to maintain core body temperature decreases with age. This is primarily due to circulatory conditions and decreased sweat gland function. The body must be able to activate its natural cooling processes in order to maintain core body temperature.
