About Eric F. Iglesias

Eric Iglesias is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Having graduated with his DNP from The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, he completed his residency in a variety of settings within the San Antonio area (Clarity Child Guidance Center, The San Antonio State Hospital, Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant, and Audie Murphy VA Hospital). Prior to this, he worked as a registered nurse for over 12 years where he thrived in environments such as emergency department, ICU, corrections, inpatient psychiatry, and in school settings where it was confirmed to him that working as a mental health provider was the route he needed to go. He is a member of the Neuroscience Education Institute (NEI), American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA), Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurses of Texas (PAPN), and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Eric was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico where some of the most important aspects of his life were first developed. Those being the game of baseball, the beach, and hard work. The game of baseball provided him a place of comfort, safety, and consistency while the life around him brought many challenges and difficulties. This simple game not only gave Dr. Iglesias an opportunity to play collegiate baseball and receive an education, but most importantly, it introduced him to Jesus where his foundation for life and relationships is built upon. His calm demeanor and easy-going personality are attributed to a few things, but growing up near the beach, surfing, and skimboarding are a direct correlation. Hard work has been a part of his life from a very young age, and it is something that he models to this day.

Eric lives in San Antonio, TX with his beautiful wife and their two amazingly funny, athletic and snack loving kids as well as their devoted dog, Roux Bear. During his free time, you can find him on the baseball field coaching kids of all ages and levels. He also enjoys doing jiu jitsu, running, eating cookies, going to church, and mowing his lawn.
